Fanali was born out of the need of Michele De Finis (EPO, unòrsominòre, Tropico), Jonathan Maurano (EPO, Blindur, unòrsominòre), and Caterina Bianco (Tropico, ’e Zèzi, Argine, Sula Ventrebianco) to create music for images in three, pushing the limits of live looping. After collaborating with visual artist Sabrina Cirillo and Salvio Vassallo, the band is premiering the video of their live performance “Guardati dal mese vicino all’Aprile” on their social media channels. The video was shot by Giacomo Citro (who has worked behind the camera for Niccolò Fabi, Daniele Silvestri, Ghemon, Max Gazzè) behind closed doors at the former Asilo Filangieri in Naples.

In November 2021, Fanali released “Man With a Movie Camera“, an album featuring music composed for Dziga Vertov’s 1929 masterpiece of the same name. The music was created during an artistic residency in Bellosguardo (SA) for the “Rural Dimensions” festival.
The first album, “Shidoro Modoro,” was released in October 2022, while in the spring of 2023, “Venus in Furs” was released with Amaury Cambuzat (Ulan Bator, Faust) and “All Tomorrow’s Parties” with Greta Zuccoli. These singles anticipated the release of “Pale Blue Eyes – Lou Reed Reimagined“, a monographic work on the New York artist, featuring collaborations with Roberto Dell’Era (Afterhours, Winstons), Saturnino (Jovanotti), and Giovanni Succi (Bachi Da Pietra).
