20 years after its first publication, “Ballate per Piccole Iene”, one of the most iconic and representative albums of Italian music, will be reissued in the spring in a special edition released by USM / Universal Music Italia.
For the occasion Manuel Agnelli decided to return to the stage with the band of the time, composed of Andrea Viti (bass), Dario Ciffo (violin, guitar) and Giorgio Prette (drums).
A few months ago, when the possibility of republishing “Ballate per Piccole Iene” emerged – says Manuel Agnelli – I continued to receive requests to listen to it live again, in its entirety. It was at that moment that the idea came to me that playing it live, with the band at the time, would give a deeper meaning to everything. A phone call to his traveling companions from that season was enough. After two hours, the band was back together.
This is a bit of the “magic” of the Afterhours project. It has been so many things, it has had so many formations, that it allows you to get back on the road without contacting nostalgia but only new energies.
The historic line-up will be on tour in the summer to bring the spirit and strength of “Ballate per Piccole Iene” back live.
Published in 2005 by Mescal and distributed worldwide in its English version by One Little Indian (the British label of the Icelandic artist and performer Björk), the album reached second place in the Italian sales charts and led Afterhours on tour in Europe, the United States, Canada and China.
“Ballate per Piccole Iene” contains masterpieces such as “Ballata per la mia piccola iena”, “Ci sono molti modi”, “Carne fresca” and “La vedova bianca”, still today an important part of the live repertoire of Agnelli as a soloist and of the Afterhours.
Its iconic cover is made in four versions with photos by Guido Harari and artwork by Thomas Berloffa.

The bands have been selected for the “Carne Fresca, Sounds from the Future” showcase, which has given space to young bands aged 15 to 29. The result of a great teamwork between 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶 and the artistic directors 𝗚𝗶𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗶 e 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗲, “Carne Fresca”
has produced unimaginable outcomes in terms of energy and participation.
On the Cagliari date, the following bands will perform:
𝐃𝐎𝐃𝐎 𝐐: Born from a chance meeting, they transformed an impromptu jam session into a solid project, choosing their name based on their initial intention to “disappear” after just one day. The growing harmony between them led them to continue, releasing their debut EP San Domenico in 2023. Their sound blends hip hop and indie pop influences with a singer-songwriter soul. Their first LP is called 75 Ideas.
𝐉𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐑: Joshburger is the solo project of Sardinian-British multi-instrumentalist Joshua Terranova, born in 2001. Active since 2021, he has released two albums: Mosaic and Observer Paradox, blending stoner rock, progressive, and electronic music. He has opened for internationally renowned bands such as Motorpsycho (Karel Music Expo 2024) and Nick Oliveri’s Mondo Generator (Euro Tour 2023). He is currently finishing his third album, recorded in Berlin in early 2025.
