Renowned multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music producer from Argentina, Gustavo Santaolalla has had an eclectic career spanning from film soundtracks to music production, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry. Winner of two consecutive Academy Awards for Best Original Score in 2005 and 2006, for the films “Brokeback Mountain” and “Babel”, respectively, he has demonstrated his extraordinary ability to create compositions that evoke deep emotions and resonate with audiences. With 2 Grammy Awards, 19 Latin Grammy Awards, 2 BAFTA Awards, and 1 Golden Globe to his name, his artistic journey is a testament to his unparalleled influence and exceptional talent. This year marks the 25th anniversary of “RONROCO”, the album that marked a decisive turning point in Gustavo Santaolalla’s career. This album not only introduced the world to Santaolalla’s extraordinary musicianship but also paved the way for collaborations with major filmmakers.
From its inclusion in Michael Mann’s film “The Insider”, to collaborations with Alejandro González Iñárritu for “Babel” and Walter Salles for “The Motorcycle Diaries”, “RONROCO” has become a key element in contemporary cinematic storytelling. In addition to tracks from the album, audiences will be treated to a selection of Santaolalla’s most famous compositions. Alongside his film scores, the concerts will also feature music from the video game “The Last of Us”, as well as notable soundtracks like “The Book of Life” and “Freak Power: The Ballot of the Bomb”.
